Innnovations and Economic Impact

Scientists develop genetically modified crops and people in agricultural business use these crops to sell. Most people eat these crops whether they know they are modified or not. Factors that drive this innovation are that these crops are more sustainable to drought, frost, high soil salinity/salt tolerant plants, and nitrogen starvation. Genetically modified crops also have longer shelf life and improved nutrition and vitamins. Also these crops are disease, stress, herbicide, and pest resistant.
